1 Registration & logging

For participation in forum you should be registered and login.

Use link "Log in" in the right upper corner of the screen to open login form!

For registration use "Registration" link which is just under login form!

For login of user in the community uses cookies-file, it creates by server after you have entered your login and password. If your browser does not support cookies-files then you cannot log.

For safe exit use link "Exit", which will appear in the right upper corner of the screen after login.

2 Groups

Forum consist of groups.

Example:

Group

If under the groups header is written - "not moderated" - then this group moderated directly by administrator.

Otherwise, under the groups header is written the group moderator.

Each community user can create groups. To do this follow the link " New group"*.

By creating a group you automatically become its moderator.

*Due to the fact that new community users several times was create a new groups by mistake ( they actually wanted to create a topic), a slight restriction was done! Now you will have to confirm that you understand what you are doing.**

**Due to the current difficult situation, the creation of new groups by community users has been suspended!

3 Topics & replies

Groups consists of topics.

Example:

All community users can create topics in any group and posts/replies in any topics*****.

URL automatically become active*, if you enter the full address with http://

Attached to the reply files are automatically inserted into the end of the reply**.

* Link to image inserted as an image if link is from this site and not broken. Link to video from Youtube and Vimeo can be inserted as a video (do not try to embed the HTML code! Just copy the video URL from the address bar of the browser!) or link, depending on site settings. If you do not see a video under the heading "Video from ...", then most likely your browser is either not supported by the corresponding video hosting, or your browser is outdated. The video embed code from the indicated video hosting sites is loaded into your browser directly from the respective video hosting sites, not from this site!

** Video (after logging) inserted in two video plugins/ players***: Flash**** and HTML5 video! HTML5 is set as default! Because of Google's recommendations about removing of Flash from web-sites, the Flash player is now available only after logging. Additionally read - End of official Flash support

***Attention please, code of video players (after logging) is inserted using Javascript, respectively, it should be in your browser and must be turned on! Otherwise, the video (after logging) will not be displayed!

****Attention please, mobile users!

At Android OS(from Google) is preinstalled Google Chrome browser(as Microsoft Internet Explorer in OS Microsoft Windows), which do not support Flash plugin! You can download the Mozilla Firefox browser for Android, and then download Flash-plugin for Android from the archive of Flash-plugins at adobe.com! Important: full-screen mode in this version of the Flash plugin is not supported!

On iOS (iPhone, iPad) Flash plugin is not supported!

4 Questions

Each group user can put questions to the vote*. To do this, use the link "My questions" located on the right panel of the main page.

You can create up to 30 possible answers. Carefully read your questions before you open them up for a vote, because after the start you can only add new answers.

After you create the question, it is automatically locked(Closed) so that you can check it again. To start a vote you should change its status to "Open" and click "Change status".

*Due to the current difficult situation, the creation of new questions by community users has been suspended!

5 Personal information

You can change information about yourself by following the link "Info", which in the top bar. In particular, there can be added: avatar - an image that will be displayed along with your replies, topics, groups; signature, which also will be displayed after your replies and topics. And additional information which other users can see by clicking on your login or avatar.

6 Moderation

By creating a group you automatically become its moderator.

This means that you can manage(edit and delete) users replies and topics, close and open access of users to your group using the "Access" link under the user reply.

7 User ban

Moderators may block the work of the users to theirs group, which means that the blocked user will not be able to write in these group a new reply(topics), or edit them. However, such block is partial, blocked user can delete its reply and topics!

Users can also be blocked to access by site administration. In this case, block is total!

8 Image and Video preparation

To convert and crop image and video materials you can use the following free tested programs.

Image:

- Paint.NET

Video - converters/editors:

- Oxelon Media Converter

- FFmpeg with command line interface

- VirtualDub*

In addition:

* VirtualDub sometimes can not open even AVI files, due to lack of necessary video codecs in Windows(compression algorithms of video data)!

9 Medical data measurement

JS version for user-uploaded images is now available - Measuring distance and angle on an ultrasound image

Because of Google's recommendations about removing of Flash from web-sites, this option is now available only after logging.

This option not included in the mobile version of site!

** Attention Please! These applications are not designed to work with touchscreen displays over the mobile OS (Android etc.) ( Not to be confused with the touchpads on laptops using the mouse driver! It is works correctly!)

At this site you can measure diagnostic medical images and frames of video*.

* Note that you should have Adobe flash player plugin (ver. 8 or higher) in your web-browser to use that feature at this site** and due to the ongoing struggle of Google with flash, all these components are available only after log in the site! Also currently, due to the policies of Adobe, Google and Microsoft, using the Adobe flash plugin is becoming more difficult, but hypothetically, it is still possible to find old versions of browsers and download older versions of the Flash plugin for them. To start measurement distance click on button

Measurement of a distance consists of two steps: calibration and distance.

- Calibration: find a scale on the medical image and select(yellow line) a range which marked numerically then choose an equal to selected range number and unit in the textfield by arrows and slider. If you need to repeat calibration click on cross button at the right.

- Distance: Now you are free to measure...enjoy

10 Mobile application for android

You can download the application for the Android OS from the link at the bottom of the site (starting from version android 4.4.2), the application downloads links to the last 10 publications, which is convenient in case of poor mobile communications for checking site news.
