| A team of researchers conducted a comparative analysis of conventional prenatal ultrasound and telerobotic (telemedicine using a robomanipulator) - i.e. allowing to sonographer execute ultrasound exams remotely, in particular, the robotic system can use a satellite as a communication channel. The study as a whole showed minimal differences between the results of both ultrasound exams. The authors proposed the use of terminology for such ultrasound - telerobotic sonography or robotic telesonography. In the survey after the study, 97% of the patients said they were ready to undergo a telerobotic ultrasound in the future. This " robotic" direction of telemedicine certainly has all the chances for widespread use in the future and can solve the problem of the lack of high-quality ultrasound specialists in the field, another question, what will be the price of this innovation. And it is obvious that this ultrasound, even without taking into account the cost of the robotic system for ultrasound scanner, and the cost of the scanner itself, will not be small, because by definition, the number of highly qualified specialists can not be large, besides taking into account the difference in time zones, a high-class specialist can not, like a robot, not sleep all day ...
