A 15-year-old adolescent with a diagnosis of non-occlusive vein thrombosis of the LE was sent for a control ultrasound scan of the LE veins in the public clinic.
An ultrasound in one of the popliteal areas revealed a vein anomaly.
First, a deep vein (presumably popliteal) is observed, which bifurcates, then a superficial vein (presumably a small saphenous) flows into one of the trunks of this vein, then (proximal) the trunks of the deep vein merge again.
Differential diagnosis: duplication of the popliteal vein, etc.
