A patient with a complicated history in the ICU. An ultrasound was assigned to monitor fluid in the chest and abdominal cavities. On ultrasound, insignificant hydrothorax on the one side, small pocket of fluid in the abdominal cavity, including the subhepatic space, and some kind of heterogeneous, solid-liquid lesion in the projection of the anterior liver (pocket of fluid? hematoma?). At control US after about 12 hours, the echogenicity of the solid component became higher than the hepatic, due to which the fuzzy and uneven border between the liver and the solid component of the lesion became clearly visible. Presumably, including by the opinion of colleagues, a hematoma of the liver. external link |
