Parents brought a 3-year-old child for ultrasound of the abdominal cavity to the public clinic as prescribed by the pediatrician.
On ultrasound (accidental finding) on the border of the lower and middle third of the spleen, an anechoic lesion is visualized type of complex cyst of irregular shape, without blood flow at CFM.
On follow-up ultrasound after 2 years, lesion without significant dynamics. While imaging on another ultrasound scanner with a linear transducer with a higher frequency - 10 MHz - small satellite cysts begin to be visualized next to the main cyst.
Dif.diagnosis: hydatid cyst(echinococcus), fungal/bacterial abscess, peliosis, etc.
