Diaphragmatic hernia, ectopic spleen & air...
#1

    Newborn with left-side diaphragmatic hernia.

On ultrasound, the right pleural cavity without features (file 1), a solid component is visualized in the left pleural space, presumably the intestine (file 2), the spleen is rotated at 180 deg. and is located posterior to the liver between the IVC and the aorta (ectopia / heteroxia, file 3). In the IVC there is a central catheter (CC, file 4), in the area of the apex of the right ventricle of the heart, multiple hyperechoic microinclusions with the comet's tail artifact (reverb), presumably air from the CC (air embolism, files 5-6).
